Shoot out shots oddities
There were earlier reports about incomplete displays of the sequence of shots in shootouts. I've found a possibly helpful clue. The list of shot attempts that gets displayed can be different between the in-game boxscore and the boxscore that is viewed retroactively (after the particular game has been exited). The first two screen shots below show an example of what I mean. In the first, the in-game boxscore is shown and the last shot taken in the shootout is not displayed. But in the second screen shot, we see the boxscore when accessed after leaving the game. Now all shot attempts are displayed.
The second observation I want to offer is that the shots on goal displayed on the scoreboard during the game seems to count the shots taken during the shootout, although those shots are not included in the boxscore shots on goal total. The third screen shot below shows the game scoreboard at the end of the shootout. This screen shot is from the same game as the other two screen shots. The shots on goal through overtime (37-18) are fewer than what is shown on the scoreboard.
