The injury news was a little mixed for the team during the month. That especially goes for Left Fielder Darby O'Brien. O'Brien managed to get himself fit during the middle of the month only to find himself back on the treatment table at the end of the month with a sprained knee. He will be out for between 4 and 5 weeks. The team also managed to get Right Fielder Ed Swartwood fit early in the month.
The star continuing to lead the Athletics towards another AL pennant is pitcher George Darby. Darby won 7 of his 10 games. He pitched 84.2 innings to give up 75 hits and 23 Earned runs for an ERA of 2.44.
