The Giants form dropped back a little in August to make their fans go back to being frustrated with the team. The record during August was 12 wins and 15 losses. This has seen the team sit in 6th place in the NL table, 18 games behind the leaders.

With another tough month the only star to play anywhere near his potential was pitcher John Murphy. Murphy managed to win 5 of the 9 games he played. He pitched 77.2 innings to give up 59 hits and 16 earned runs for an ERA of 1.85.
