The fans of the Wolverines are enjoying the second half of the season more than the first as their team shows a little bit of form. The team did see the pennant disappear for another season after a month of 13 wins and 17 losses. They are in 7th place in the AL table 23 games behind the leaders.

When the front office of the Wolverines thought their season couldn't get worse they found it could with 2 pitchers going down with season ending injuries. The first to go was Jim Conway. The news was not good for Conway or the team as the diagnosis sees him not just out for the rest of this season but also probably the whole of next season after he tore his Ulnar Collateral Ligament. The doctors thing it will take 14 months for him to fully recover. Pitcher Frank Meinke is happy his injury is not that bad but he will still be out for four months with bone chips in his elbow.
It was a tough month for all of the Detroit players. With this in mind we will not be highlighting any of the Wolverines.
