It was a bad month for the Chicago White Sox as their treatment room continued to fill. They lost Short Stop Jack Rowe early in the month due to a sprained thumb. He will be out for between 4 and 5 weeks. Worse news followed mid month as they lost Pitcher Pete Conway for the season as he picked up shoulder inflammation. He will need 3 months to recover. The team also lost First Baseman Sid Farrar for the season after he bruised a kneecap. He will be gone for between 2 and 3 months.
It was a strong month from the White Sox during August and this showed in the individual performances. The top star was Third Baseman Denny Lyons. Lyons picked up 38 hits from 110 at bats during his 27 games. He scored 14 runs with 12 RBI's for an average of .345.
