September 23rd, 2015... The Exhibition Season

The Oilers have 34 players still in camp as they prepare for the Exhibtion games. Three goalies, Eleven defensemen and Twenty forwards.

G Laurent Brossoit. The 22 year old Brossoit played 1 game with the Oilers in 2014-15, a loss in which he allowed only 2 goals. He is likely to be sent to Bakersfield for the season.

G Ben Scrivens. The 29 year old Scrivens has 129 NHL games under his belt, a career 2.90 GAA and .905 save percentage. The Oilers acquired Scrivens in a trade last season.

G Cam Talbot. The 28 year old Talbot was the reason the Rangers made the playoffs last season after losing "King Henrik" to injury. In 57 career NHL games, he has an excellent .931 save percentage to go along with a 2.00 GAA.

LD Brandon Davidson. The 24 year old Davidson was originally drafted by the Oilers 162nd in the 2010 NHL draft. He played 12 games with the Oilers last season getting an goal and was -5.

LD Andrew Ference. The 36 year old Ference is wearing the "C" this season for the Oil. Originally drafted by Pittsburg in 1997, he has played 901 NHL games, has 225 points and 747 PIMs.

LD Oscar Klefbom. The 22 year old Klefbom is expected to be a regular on the team. A 1st round pick, 19th overall by the Oilers in 2011 has played 77 NHL games.

LD David Musil. The 22 year old Musil was the 31st overall pick by the Oilers in 2011. Last season he dressed for 4 games with the Oilers. The 6 foot 4 defenseman maybe a year away from being a regular.

LD Nikita Nikitin. The 29 year old Nikitin has played 248 career NHL games and will add some depth and experience to the back end.

LD Darnell Nurse. The 20 year old Nurse was the 7th overall pick in the 2013 NHL draft by the Oilers. Last season he dressed for 2 games. The Oilers expect Nurse to become a top defenseman in the NHL at some point.

LD Griffin Reinhart. The 21 year old Reinhart was the 4th overall pick in the 2012 NHL draft by the New York Islanders. He played 8 games with the Islanders last season. Like Nurse the Oilers expect him to be a defenseman for the future.

LD Andrej Sekera. The 29 year old Sekera was a 3rd round pick by the Sabres in 2004. He is a veteran of 486 NHL games mostly with the Sabres. He has 159 career points, 136 PIMs and is a +1 over that time. He had 23 points in 73 games last year with the Hurricanes and Kings.

RD Mark Fayne. The 28 year old Fayne was drafted by the Devils in 1995. Fayne played 316 NHL games on his resume, know as a physical defensive defenseman.

RD Eric Gryba. The 27 year old Gryba was a 3rd Round pick of the Senators in 2006. Gryba has played the last 3 seasons in the NHL with the Sens playing 165 games. Not much offensively, but a good physical defensman.

RD Justin Schultz. The 25 year old Schultz was the 43rd pick in the 2008 NHL draft by the Ducks. He has played 203 NHL games, all with the Oilers and has produced 25 goals and 91 points. Definitely and offensive defenseman.

LW Luke Gazdic. The 26 year old Gazdic was a 6th round pick of the Stars in the 2007 NHL draft. Over the last 2 season, Gazdic has played in 107 NHL games with just 7 points and 170 PIMs. Gazdic is expected the give the talented young Oilers a little more room on the ice.

LW Taylor Hall. The 23 year old Hall was the 1st overall pick in the 2010 NHL draft by the Oilers. Hall has played in 299 games over 5 seasons with 106 goals and 263 points. The Oilers need Hall to play a full season without injuries for success.

LW Ryan Hamilton. The 30 year old Hamilton has played 30 NHL games over 4 seasons in the NHL. Definitely a depth player that will likely find his way back to Bakersfield.

LW Matt Hendriks. The 34 year old Hendriks was a 5th round pick of the Predators in the 2000 NHL draft. In 411 career NHL games, he has 40 goals and 81 points with 553 PIMs. Definitely a team player that looks out for his teammates.

LW Kale Kessy. The 22 year old Kessy was originally drafted by the Coyotes in 2011 111th overall. Kessy has never played a regular season NHL game, at 6 foot 3 he is a physical player that is not afraid to drop the mitts.

LW Laurie Korpikoski. The 29 year old Korpikoski was a 1st round, 19th overall pick in the 2004 NHL draft by the Rangers. He has played 469 games with 69 goals and 159 points. He had 6 goals with the Coyotes last season in 69 games.

LW Mitch Moroz. The 21 year old Moroz was the 32nd overall pick of the Oilers in the 2012 NHL draft. He has yet to play a NHL game and is considered an Enforcer.

LW Benoit Pouliot. The 28 year old Pouliot was the 4th overall pick of the Wild in 2005. The much travelled Pouliot is playing for his 6th NHL team, played 429 career NHL games with 95 goals and 194 points. He is considered an offensive forward.

C Leon Driasaitl. The 19 year old Driasaitl is another of those youthful, talented Oilers that has high expectations. Drafted 3rd overall in 2014 by the Oilers he played in 37 games last season scoring 2 and had 9 points. Unfortunately he was a -17 last year in those games and will need to work on his defensive play should he expect to crack the roster.

C Anton Lander. The 24 year old Lander was a 2nd round pick of the Oilers in 2009. Over 4 seasons, he has played just 132 NHL games with 8 goals and 20 points. Described as a two way forward, he should make the roster this season.

C Mark Letestu. The 30 year old Letestu was never drafted to the NHL. He started his career in 2009-10 for the Penguins and has since played in 318 NHL games having 58 goals and 127 points. Like Landers, he is a two way forward.

C Connor McDavid. The 18 year old McDavid was the prize of the 2015 NHL draft. Picked 1st overall by the Oilers, there is a ton of pressure on this kid to take the Oilers to thier 1st playoff appearance in 9 years. An offensive playmaker on a team with alot of young talent.

C Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. The 22 year old Nugent-Hopkins is another 1st overall pick of the Oilers from the 2011 NHL entry draft. With 56 points in 76 games last season, he now has 188 career points in 258 NHL games. He had a career high 24 goals in 2014-15.

C Bogdan Yakimov. The 21 year old Yakimov was the 83rd overall pick by the Oilers in the 2013 NHL draft. So far he has suited for just 1 NHL game. The offensive forward will have a tough time cracking the Oilers roster this season as well.

RW Jordan Eberle. The 25 year old Eberle was the 22nd overall pick of the 2008 NHL draft by the Oilers. Eberle has 120 goals and 284 points in 356 NHL games. He had a career high of 34 goals in the 2011-12 season for the Oil.

RW Rob Klinkhammer. The 29 year old Klinkhammer is another undrafted NHL player. He started his NHL career in 2010-11 with the Blackhawks and is with his 6th NHL team. Last season he played 69 games with 3 different teams including the Coyotes, Penguins and Oilers. He had 5 goals and 9 points last year. He is expected to be a two way forward.

RW Iiro Pakarinen. The 24 year old Pakarinen was originally drafted in the 7th round by the Panthers. He played a total of 17 NHL games, all with the Oilers last season. He is likely going to start his season in the AHL.

RW Tyler Pitlick. The 23 year old Pitlick was the 31st overall pick of the 2010 NHL draft by the Oilers. Over the past 2 seasons he has been called up to play a total of 27 games and has 3 goals to show for it. A two way depth player that will likely start in Bakersfield.

RW Teddy Purcell. The 30 year old veteran was never drafted but started his NHL career in 2007-08 with the Kings. He had a career high 24 goals and 65 points with the Lightning in 2011-12. Overall he has 87 goals and 262 points in 483 NHL games.

RW Nail Yakupov. The 21 year old Yakupov was the 1st overall pick of the Oilers in the 2012 NHL draft. The Oilers have played him 192 games over 3 seasons including 81 games last season. He has a career 42 goals and 88 points over his NHL career.
