1st July 1888

The poor season for the Bridegrooms continued to upset their fans during June. The team picked up 8 wins from the 27 games they played during the month. They still sit rooted to the bottom of the NL table with a long 24.5 games up to the leaders.

Series Results
1-2 at home to the Boston Beaneaters
0-3 at home to the Philadelphia Quakers
2-1 on the road to the New York Giants
1-3 on the road to the Pittsburgh Alleghenys
0-3 on the road to the Chicago White Stockings
1-1 on the road to the Boston Beaneaters
0-3 at home to the Philadelphia Quakers
1-2 on the road to the Cincinnati Red Stockings
went 2-1 to start a road trip to the New York Giants

The team lost Catcher Jim O'Rourke to injury during late June for 2 weeks with a sprained thumb.

the team made changes to the squad during the month via some trading.

They sent 26 year old Short Stop Milt Whitehead and 22 year old minor league First Baseman George McVey to the Boston Beaneaters in exchange for 27 year old Right Fielder Buck West.

They also sent 29 year old Second Baseman Cub Stricker to the Louisville Colonels in exchange for 30 year old Short Stop Arthur Irwin and 21 year old Centre Fielder Taylor Shafer.

A poor month means poor individual performances from the players. With this in mind we will not be highlighting any players.
