News:
The American League won the All-Star Game 7-2 with White Sox 1B Jose Abreu getting named Player of the Game.

Texas traded for SP Asher Wojcierchowski(26, 1.5*, 7-7 4.01 18GS) from the Astros, giving up a couple of prospects. Houston gets prospect 1B Ronald Guzman(20, 3* HS, 2* OSA, A) and prospect C Kellin Deglan(23, 1*, A).

San Diego added upcoming free agent SP Mike Leake(27, 2.5*, 7-6 3.46 18GS) from the Reds. Coming back to Cincy will be LF Abraham Almonte(26, 1.5/2.5*, .249-12-17 51G) and prospect RHRP Emmanuel Clase(17, 1* HS, 0.5* OSA, R).

Atlanta added Rockies OF Drew Stubbs(30, 2.5*, .277-8-29 85G) in a deal that will sent LHRP Josh Outman(30, 2.5* 0-1 4.26 19IP) and #28 prospect SS Ozhaino Albies(18, 5*, A) to Colorado... a high prize for Stubbs...

Giants SS Brandon Crawford(28, 1.5*) is out for the year with a fractured hip. The left handed batter was .255-2-26 in 86G/60GS prior to the injury.

Trade Deadline thoughts:

We are 14 days away from the deadline and are 43-47, 17GB in the division and 8.5GB in the Wild Card race. However, since May 1st, we are 36-32 and trending up since then... There are basically three ways to go about this trade deadline for us.
1. Try to trade the expiring contracts of waiver wire claims SP Travis Wood and OF/1B John Mayberry Jr. away for prospects.
2. Do nothing and keep the group together.
3. Add pieces in order to make a desperation run

The last one is out of question... #1 and #2 will depend on the next two weeks, e.g. if we can creep closer to the second WC... and if we can get a good deal for those two if not.
