The troubles for the New York Giants continued in May to give their fans very little to smile about. The team managed to pick up 11 wins and 17 losses during the month. This sees them positioned in 7th place in the NL table, 11.5 games behind the leaders.

The team lost the services of Short Stop Bill Greenwood late May after he picked up a mild shoulder strain. He will be sidelined for 2 weeks.

With the teams struggles the players form was always going to struggle. The player to keep his form best was pitcher James Burke. Burke managed to win 6 of his 9 games. He pitched 82 innings to give up 62 hits and 13 earned runs for an ERA of 1.43.
