I don't think it qualifies as a "bug" but it's definitely something that needs fixing.
The Buffalo Sabres just signed Nikita Filatov and a week later they traded him to the Florida Panthers.
Needless to say, a free agent has never been traded in the NHL before ever playing a game for a team he signed with.
