The fans of the Browns are not sure which way the season is going to go yet after seeing an average month from their team. The team picked up 13 wins from the 26 games they played during the month. They are positioned in 5th place in the NL table, 4 games behind the leaders.

The team decided to freshen up the line up during the month by claiming players off of the waiver wire. The players they claimed were Catcher Emil Gross from the Chicago White Stockings and Centre Fielders Tom Loftus from the Philadelphia Athletics and John Grady from the Brooklyn Bridegrooms.

While not the player with the best average for the St. Louis Browns, Jimmy Ryan still picked up the NL Batter of the Month award on the back of his outstanding scoring and RBI numbers. Ryan played all 26 games and picked up 30 hits from 99 at bats. He scored 25 runs with 25 RBI's for an average of .303.
