The fans of the Baltimore Orioles have enjoyed the start to the 1888 season after watching their team put in some good performances. The team managed to pick up 19 wins from their 28 games. This has moved them to the top of the AL table to lead by 3.5 games.

4-0 at home to the Boston Americans

Won the first game of a home series against the Cleveland Blues

The team lost Left Fielder Joe Strauss to the Detroit Wolverines via waivers while Right Fielder Willie Murphy followed him out of the door to the Philadelphia Athletics via the same route.

With an excellent start to the season the players were always going to get good praise. The top star in April was Pitcher Toad Ramsey. Ramsey started 10 games and managed to pick up 9 wins. He pitched 89 innings to give up 66 hits and 12 earned runs for an ERA of 1.21. These figures earned him the AL Pitcher of the Month award.
