Injuries:
SP Cornell Pearson, Torn UCL (Undergoing Tommy John Surgery), 4 Months
SP Carlos Coronado, Torn Labrum, 7 weeks
MR Teo Ha, shoulder soreness, 2 days

Other/Roster News:
I didn't make any callups this past week, but next week we will see 3 players joining our roster, maybe 4.

GM Notes:
Our Magic #1 is one and Angel Rivera will be on the hill against the Annapolis Admirls to see if we can clinch it. I am not overly worried about not winning the Divsion, and I do think it will be nice to just get it over with.

It does look like I will have a little delmina come playoff time on who will be my #4. Do I go with Lanny Reese who has struggled in Cav's orange or with Angel Rivera who has been here all year and just had back luck. I think the answer will be decided over the next 3 weeks. Brown, Kennedy, Hernandez sound like a pretty formidable first 3.

This week reminded me of the first month of the season when it was all pitching. Our offense didn't do much, and our pitching carried the slack. Kennedy gave up 5 unearned runs in the final game of the week, Lopez makes the play we have a perfect week. I hope our pitching can continue to stay hot for the month heading into October.

The more I look at my lineup the more I like them. I am surprised how balanced it is. We really don't have that one stand-out player. Seems like that is something this offense rarely has. We are 2nd in runs, currently, and only have 1 player that is going to have over 100 RBI's on the season... I also think the lineup has gelled better once I have gone with Lopez at 3B and Frank at SS. The defense is still playing well, even if our best 2 fielding SS's (Flores, Vazquez) aren't playing much. Flores did finally get his average over .200.

Trevor Parker is hitting .300-30-109 right now with 18 games to play. I am curious if he has any chance of winning the Silver Slugger (MVP). I'd hate to wonder where we would be without him.

I have complained a lot about this team all season, but in reality this team is really solid and probably the deepest team 1-25 (or even 30) I have ever had in Norfolk. It doesn't seem any injury, even the injury to our top pitcher and our #3 pitcher could slow us down. Its been a fun year to see.

I don't have a whole lot to say about this team right now, just getting ready to finish strong and get the playoffs kicked off right. I am thinking, yes again, that I may finish with a 6-man rotation to my arms fresh. Things are exciting here in Norfolk only 3 weeks to go till the real fun starts!!
