2500th Hit for Davis
2500th Hit for Davis: Cardinals center fielder Kent Davis never thought his name would be associated with some of the great players in league history. Now that he has reached the 2500-hit threshold, that's all but guaranteed. Davis collected his big hit in a 5-1 loss to Chesapeake. Afterward, he thought about the achievement: "Overwhelmed," he said. "That's how I feel about it right now." Davis went 1-4 for the game. In his all-time stats Davis is hitting .342 with 2500 hits, 23 home runs, 1115 runs scored and 786 RBIs.

With that, Kent Davis becomes the first player in the DBL to reach the 2500 hit mark. Kent Davis is a singles machine and by the end of his 5th season there was no question he was going to march right past the 3000 hit mark for his career... but then injuries started coming and coming, he has battled through them, but he hasn't be the hitter he once was. At 37-years old the chase to 3000 maybe out of his reach, but this is a mark that he will treasure for a long while.
Congrats to Kent Davis, and I hope he can continue to play and be healthy for a few more years to come.
