Norfolk-Christiana Swap
Norfolk-Christiana Swap: Perdnard for Reese: Both sides appear content with the trade finalized today that will send 26-year-old second baseman Edgardo Perdnard, 23-year-old minor league starting pitcher Sergio Santana and a 10th round draft pick to the Christiana Blue Hens, while the Norfolk Cavaliers will receive 24-year-old starting pitcher Lanny Reese. "This is a move that filled a few gaps in our roster," said the Cavaliers general manager. For his part, the Blue Hens GM said the trade was made "in the best interest of our organization's future." BNN analysts reported that on paper the trade seemed to be a plus for both ball clubs. The players involved are expected to join their new teams for the next scheduled game.
This season Reese has fanned 87 in 144.1 innings and collected a 12-2 record with a 2.74 ERA.

I feel like we made a GREAT deal here, we acquired a solid young pitcher, for really nothing that is going to effect the core of this team. I almost had a deal for the older star, but then I luckily noticed that he had signed a 5-year extension.
With Lanny I get a 24 year old kid who is still making the minimum and is having a great year with great stats. His ratings are solid (Stuff:14/15, Movement: 12/12, Control: 12/13) however Shelton sees him as only a 3* player with back-end effectiveness. OSA see's him a little better, but either way I think I got steal.
What does this mean to my roster and rotation? Well it means that I am going with 12 pitchers and 13 position players for the time being. Armando Lopez will be moved back to the bullpen in hopes he can solidify it. He may end up back in the rotation for Angel Rivera down the road but right now Rivera gets the nod as the "better" starter.
Rivera: 17 GS, 7-4 3.86, 1.23 WHIP, BABIP: .234
Lopez: 9 GS, 6-2 4.21, 1.25 WHIP, BABIP: .310
With the deal I will maintain my 6-man rotation... Got this deal done 4 days before the deadline, and that is the only deal I will be making...
