Frazier allowed 8 hits, 2 walks and struck out 1. At bat, he had a hit, scored a run and had an RBI.
Mathews gave us 9 hits, no walks and struck out 1. At bat, he had a hit.
We made no errors and Pittsburgh made 3.
SS Tom Nelson (21-6.6) had 2 hits. CF Tom Duncan (22-6.6) hit a triple. C Tom Trever (25-4.7) had 2 hits with a double and scored a run.
For the Puddlers, RF Ace Trimmell (29-5.0) hit his 6th home run of the year.
Liberty League:
Louisville (7) at New York (11): Tom McDowell (23-8.0) (9-10) over William McLeod (28-5.6) (27-18). 1B John Hilliard (28-7.2) had 2 hits with his 18th home run of the year, a base-loaded blast in the bottom of the 9th that won the game. He also drew a walk, scored 2 runs and had 5 RBIs. RF Bert Gellis (26-5.5) has a sore hamstring and will probably rest it off for about 5 days. For the Bourbons, rookie 3B Dave Odekirk (23-6.5) hit his 4th home run of the season and CF Pat Womack (26-6.3) hit his 5th.
Boston (2) at Cincinnati (3) in 13 innings: Charlie Branham (27-4.2) (32-24) over William Little (27-6.0) (24-21). In 13 innings, Branham allowed 16 hits, 2 walks and struck out 4. Little allowed 6 hits, 5 walks and struck out 3. He walked in the winning run. Boston made 8 errors. For the Red Caps, 2B Mike Stables (31-7.1) had 4 hits with a double and a triple and an RBI.
Indianapolis (11) at Cleveland (8): Jimmy Euler (26-5.5) (15-19) over Ed Pedersen (25-5.1) (22-34). RF Ed Wakefield (27-5.8) hit a bases-loaded double, scored a run and had 4 RBIs. C Fred Smith (32-6.8) hit his 5th home run of the season.
Grand National Association:
Providence (4) at Brooklyn (5): Al Green (25-3.8) (26-25) over Tom Ashton (23-5.2) (11-9). Green allowed 4 hits, 2 walks and struck out 5. Ashton allowed 7 hits, 2 walks and struck out 2.
Omaha (5) at Baltimore (9): Frank McSherry (32-4.1) (9-10) over Lee Sprague (27-3.5) (26-30). There were only 14 hits total in the game, but 14 walks.
