They are still sitting bottom of the AL table, 26 games behind the leaders and 4 behind their closest rival.

Third Baseman Jerry McCormick returned to action mid month to give the team a boost.
Centre Fielder Mike Tiernan again put in an excellent showing in August. He picked up 34 hits from 101 at bats in his 26 games. He scored 18 runs with 18 RBI's for an average of .337. This earned him the AL Rookie of the Month award.
