Liberty League:
Cincinnati (5) at Indianapolis (3): John Stevens (30-8.2) (21-18) over Levi Giddens (35-4.8) (1-4). Stevens allowed 6 hits, 1 walk and struck out 1. C John Whelan (26-4.6) hit his 3rd home run of the season. RF Fleet Wilcox (30-4.9) pulled a muscle and is expected to miss a month.
New York (6) at Boston (4): Jack Roberts (35-6.1) (14-25) over William Little (26-6.0) (19-17). Roberts allowed 5 hits, 4 walks and struck out no one. He has won 4 in a row. For the Red Caps, CF Pat Stafford (26-5.4) tore a stomach muscle and will miss at least 6 weeks. With Wilcox and Stafford, the #2 and #3 home run hitters in the league, out, the Gotham's 1B John Hilliard (27-7.2) would seem to have the home run title locked up. The only question is whether he can break Wilcox's all0time record of 18. He has 17 right now. The Gothams have won 6 in a row.
Grand National Association:
Providence (4) at Kansas City (10): Al McClaughry (23-5.6) (31-15) over Tom Ashton (23-5.2) (5-6).
Brooklyn (5) at Milwaukee (4) in 12 innings: Al Green (24-3.8) (20-22) over Wiley Steel (27-5.6) (7-13) in relief of Freddy Wood (31-6.3). That is not a misprint; the 2 teams played to the same exact final score in the same number of innings 2 days in a row. In 12 innings, Green allowed 9 hits, 2 walks and struck out 5. Wood had to leave in the 5th inning with a pulled calf, but should be fine in a few days. Rookie 1B Fred Collins (23-5.2) hit his 4th home run of the year.
Omaha (4) at St. Louis (2): Tom Lee (29-6.0) (18-15) over Ted Ryther (33-4.3) (24-18). Lee allowed 3 hits, 5 walks and struck out 5. Ryther allowed 6 hits, 4 walks and struck out 4.

Rinehart has won 5 of his last 6. Chicago has won 7 in a row and now has moved into 1st place. For the Orioles, rookie CF Jimmy Sleeman (24-3.3) hit his 3rd home run of the season.
