Demands: $1,400,000 (Easy), Offer: $1,200,000
06/10/2027: Mauro is excited to get his season started and will be sent down to A to start playing ball.
06/10/2027: Mauro didn't wast anytime, making his professional debut going 2-4 with a double.

Demands: $490,000 (Extremely Hard), Offer: $370,000, Current Offer: $510,000
06/06/2027: Not happy wants more. We upped his offer to more than he was demanding, and will see how that goes.
06/11/2027: Ambrose signed and will be sent down to A-Ball. SS-A doens't start for 2 weeks and I'd rather him play.
06/11/2027: Made his minor league debut, going 1-4 with a 2B and 2 RBI's.

Round 3, Pick 21, 68th Overall: RF Pete Davis (U of South Carolina) - Signed

06/06/2027: He isn't happy and wants more, I don't see us meeting his crazy 2.4 demand but we will bump it up some. I'd like to sign at least one of our 2 catchers.
06/09/2027: Was not satisfied and said he will not talk further and will re-enter draft.

Round 5, Pick 20, 108th Overall: SP Edward Hill (Valley View HS)
Demands: $3,000,000 (Extremely Hard), Offer: $150,000, Current Ofer: $3,00,000
06/07/2027: He isn't happy either, no suprise. he is probably the best player we drafted so I am thinking I will meet his demand. I will put it all out there for Hill and Osorio, if I miss out on anyone else, oh well.

Round 6, Pick 20, 128th Overall: 3B Howard Wiggins (Bolingbrook HS) - Broken Off

Other/Roster News:
The Newark Millers have release Steve Ingram, who they selected from us during the Rule-5 draft and he has been returned to our system. In 22 games for the Millers Ingram did better than I though he would hitting .300-2-12. Not really sure what to do with him...

GM Notes:
Nothing drives me more crazy than struggling to get hits, or runs, and then one game the team just goes bezerk. If we could of just spread those 19 hits and 11 runs around we could of swept the Tourists series. Those one game outburst, that surround lulls bother me. I know its impossible to do the same thing every game, but there would be nice if the team could be somewhat consistent about it, right? Maybe its just me.

I have 3 or 4 guys down in AAA that are knocking on the door and ready to come up and play with the Cav's. All 3 guys have been on the "watch" list, and should make the team at some point this season. However, with the team winning games there is no reason to stir things up. Now if we start slumping...
LF Blake Quirke: .324-8-31
CF Juan Hernandez: .378-24-74
3B Angel Hernandez: .345-16-50
1B Oliver Ramos: .360-17-54

If you told me at the start of the season that Sergio Gavlez would be the "lightest" hitting outfield I would of said you are crazy, he is a perennial Silver Slugger candidate... yet after 61 games he is:
Bob Short: 181 AB's, .309-4-33
Leonard Lawson: 205 AB's, .312-8-37
Sergio Galvez: 236 AB's, .250-6-36
Trevor Parker: 183 AB's, .301-12-41
Sergio Rodriguez: 214 AB's, .327-2-25

Not a bad group of outfielders right there. I have started playing Short in CF taking some AB's from Galvez in hopes to even out the AB's a little more. Plus Short is crushing the ball right now, not over the fence, but everywhere else.

One thing I would of never predicted is that catcher Henry Rojas would lead the team in average this far into the season. He has been hitting the ball really well lately and has his average up to .331. I took a risk with him last season acquiring a kid who played only like 10 games in AAA and threw him into the starting lineup... Well it paid off more than I had hoped.

The only thing I may end up doing before the trade deadline is move Bryant Frank. He should have some decent trade value. He is hitting .250-1-17 and would be an everyday player for most other teams. I feel like he hasn't blended well here in Norfolk and just isn't playing as good as he could. A change of venue may do him well, and would make my defense better. Either with Robinson Lopez or Angel Hernandez, both are better on the D side. Hitting is fairly mute at this point based on what Frank has done. Something to think about, maybe I can find a prospect for him, that would be a nice money saver... not that we need it, for once.

I am getting to like this starting staff. Its not like days of old when the Cav's were throwing out ace after ace, but these guys are pretty solid. I was a little nervous about them when the season started, but they have grown on me.
