I'd be interested in this too, but in a sort of different way - what if you could play a whole season of tournaments? Like, you schedule tournaments and teams choose to go or not go to them (and some are restricted based on region or something), maybe various finishes at each one are worth a certain number of points, and that dictates the standings? Or getting to a certain round of a big enough tournament gets you a spot in an end-of-year best-of-the-best type deal? I think that would be super cool (although it's even more pie-in-the-sky than the other suggestions here).
