Manager Elmer Higgins (41-6.4) brings his Bourbons to Detroit today to begin a 4 game series. The 1st time we met, we won 2 of 3 in Louisville a month ago. They are 3rd in runs scored with 6.9 per game (Detroit is still last, but still climbing with 6.1). They are 3rd in runs allowed with 6.4 per game (Detroit is still #1 with 5.0). A very impressive start to their inaugural season.

Louisville Bourbons (23-21 .523 5.5 GB in 4th place in the Liberty League) at
Detroit Wolverines (29-16 .644 1st place)

William McLeod, Lou. (28-5.6) (R 11-7 4.17 9.3-3.8-3.2 H-BB-K/9) vs. Lou Townley, Det. (25-3.4) (R 14-4 2.63 8.9-1.3-3.4)

Lost - 8 to 3

We were just beaten badly in this one. These Bourbons look like a real team and no pushover like they should be. We are now 3-6 in our last 9 games.

Ed Seelow (27-4.5) pitched the 9th inning and set them down in order, striking out a batter.

McLeod gave us 8 hits, 6 walks and struck out 4. At bat, he had a hit and scored a run.

We made 2 errors and Louisville made 1. The Bourbons have the 2nd best defense in the Liberty League.
