The trading deadline passed without any new trades and we are now officially stuck with what we got.
We are back home in Detroit to begin our first real home-stand of the season. We will be here for almost 3 weeks before we have to take to the rails again. We start off with a 3 game series against manager Hi Lynch (36-7.5) and his Gothams. So far, we are 3-3 against them and we beat them 2 of 3 the last time we met, which was right here 2 weeks ago. They are 6th in runs scored with 6.5 per game (Detroit is still last, getting better at 5.9. We have scored at least 6 runs in 10 straight games). They are 7th in runs allowed with 7.9 per game (Detroit is still #1 with 4.8)
3B Sam Boullion (27-4.8) is ready to resume his baseball career today, so IF Dave Krampe (28-5.5) is on his way to Syracuse.

For the 3rd straight day, we lose in the final inning. Entering the 9th, we were up 2 to 0.
Bush allowed 8 hits (4 in the 9th), 1 walk and struck out 5. He has not won in 4 straight starts.
McDowell gave us 6 hits, 1 walk and struck out 1. At bat, he hit and RBI double.
We made 2 errors and New York made 4.
3B Sam Boullion had 2 hits with a double.
For the Gothams, 1B John Hilliard (27-7.2) hit a double and his 7th home run of the season and had 2 RBIs.
Liberty League:
Cleveland (2) at Cincinnati (6): Charlie Branham (27-4.2) (11-8) over Ed Pedersen (25-5.1) (6-13). Branham allowed 4 hits, 1 walk and struck out 2. He has won 5 in a row and 9 of his last 11 decisions. 1B Willie Burton (32-8.5) hit his 4th home run of the year.
Pittsburgh (10) at Louisville (7): Tom Lilly (27-6.4) (8-7) over Count Childs (31-3.1) (7-8). Lilly allowed 6 hits, 3 walks and struck out no one. SS Dan White (27-5.1) had 4 hits with a triple, stole a base, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs. C Wilson Wendling (26-4.1) hit his 3rd home run of the season. For the Bourbons, rookie 3B Dave Odekirk (22-6.5) hit his 2nd home run of the year.
Indianapolis (1) at Boston (5): Dave Wolf (24-4.7) (7-2) over Jimmy Euler (26-5.5) (1-2). Wolf allowed 7 hits, no walks and struck out 4. The Red Caps have won 6 on a row.
Grand National Association:
Kansas City (8) at Providence (7): Lew Burnett (26-4.5) (11-8) over Ed Hodges (27-3.2) (7-11). The Cowboys won despite making 9 errors and the Grays making none.
Milwaukee (11) at Brooklyn (6): Freddy Wood (31-6.3) (8-11) over Ren French (25-4.9) (10-7). Wood allowed 8 hits, 2 walks and struck out 6. Milwaukee made 9 errors. 2B Tom Kelly (23-5.3) will miss the next 2 weeks with a bruised knee.
Chicago (10) at Omaha (12): Tom Lee (29-6.0) (7-5) over Pete Rinehart (28-6.2) (4-6). 1B Tom Anglin (34-5.6) had 2 hits and got hit by a pitch, scored 4 runs and had 2 RBIs. For the Colts, C Fred Blevins (28-6.4), in only his 2nd game of the season, had 4 hits with a home run, scored 2 runs and had 4 RBIs.
