Omaha (9) at Milwaukee (7) in 13 innings: Bill Hamilton (29-5.4) (4-1) in relief of Tom Lee (29-6.0) over Freddy Wood (31-6.3) (4-8). Lee had to leave after 7 innings with a strained muscle. They say he should be fine in 4 or 5 days. Hamilton pitched 6 shutout innings of relief to earn the win. He allowed 4 hits, 1 walk and struck out 5. Omaha made 11 errors and Milwaukee made 9. Rookie LF Dave Todd (21-5.5), in his season debut, had 4 hits and a walk, scored a run and had an RBI. For the Brewers, LF Ted Steeves (25-4.2) had 4 hits hit his 2nd home run of the year, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. SS Lou Bohus (27-5.4) hit a home run.
Brooklyn (4) at St. Louis (3): William David (24-3.6) (1-1) over Ted Ryther (33-4.3) (4-8). Brooklyn scored a run in the top of the 9th on 2 errors and a passed ball to break the tie. St. Louis made 8 errors to 1 for Brooklyn.
Baltimore (5) at Chicago (6): Pony Stanley (24-6.2) (8-5) over Pop Yurkovich (35-5.6) (5-6). LF Washington Macho (37-8.3) will miss a couple of weeks with a back issue.
