Players will announce they are retiring at the end of the season but they will be on your roster and payroll until they do.
You are responsible for his salary.
Put him on the DL and leave him there. If you put him on the 60 day you get the 40 man roster spot.
If he has multiple years left you will only pay this season, he will retire after the WS.
