Admittedly I did in fact take your comments rather personal. In hindsight they really don’t bother as much as they originally had. My initial post was brief because this is a rather common problem that has come up nearly 2 to 3 times a week for the past month or so now. I have described my own personal experience with this issue on more than one occasion and didn’t feel the need to do so again. I was simply giving the person another avenue of thought to pursue. If he had come back and answered my question with a “yes” then I would have bothered to go into more detail. At the time I didn’t think that it was necessary to do all that until a response was supplied.

With my experience I ended up having to use the system restore to the day before upgrading to DirectX9. That was the entire extent of the final solution to this problem in my own case.

Also, I never referred to DirectX 9 as being “buggy” because I don’t personally think that it is. I have 2 different computers running OOTP5 and the better computer with the better sound card can handle DirectX 9 quite well. This actually made it more difficult for me to find the root of my problems with the second computer. Once again, I use the term “root” because I don’t think that DirectX 9 is the “cause” of the problem. I honestly believe that the “cause” of my problem for that particular computer is my crappy sound card that doesn’t mesh well with the high-end capabilities of DirectX 9.

Seemingly, I have had to explain myself quite a bit for such a simple question that hasn’t even been answered yet. O’well, so much for good intentions.
