League History:
Sports are a tool used by many to escape the trials and tribulations of the "real worl". Unfortantly there are times in our society that affect the games we come to enjoy.

This is the story of the 2008 economic and housing crisis that hit a majority of the nation. Rising overhead costs mixed with a stagnant economy left many Major League owners wondering how they could make a yearly payroll.

Following the 2014 season, the owners gathered for an emergency pre-winter meeting. This meeting was to discuss the future of the game. The owners were overwhelmingly concerned with the decreasing dollar, less disposible income for fans, and rising player/overhead costs for stadium upkeep. For these reasons, the owners jointly decided to disband and contract the league to 12 teams forming the new United States Baseball League.

When news of this broke then US President George W. Bush, avid baseball fan, called a special session of Congress to assess the economy. Fearful of losing the national pasttime, Bush came up with a plan; establish a join comittee of politicians, former owners, and baseball legends such as Pete Rose, Greg Maddux, and Doug Drabek. This committee was then joined by representatives of the nearly defunt MLBPA to discuss options.

During this time, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper watched as things progressed. He quickly provided support for the crashing dollar by offering owners that were voted out of the USBL by forming the Canadian Baseball League. The newly found CBL selected 12 of the most financially stable cities in Canada and constructed new stadiums for the migrating owners.

Owners of the USBL watched as the CBL was formed. This formation later established the join CanAm Pro League which will begin play in 2015 with 24 teams (12 of the USBL and 12 of the CBL). Teams will be randomly placed in a draft and teams will be formulated by a league-wide draft of all former and current members of the MLBPA. This new format is expected to re-establish the love of baseball in North America.
