Whilst trading AI is obviously a very tough thing to get right, this version does feel more broken than previous versions did. With default settings, I struggle to make any trades at all, whilst the AI trades beggar belief completely.

I just saw the Pirates trade away Raisel Iglesias to St Louis at the tail end of May '16. He was traded by the Reds in July '15 for an 18 yr old 5-star SS prospect and 19 yr old rookie league pitcher (who might with good luck and a following wind make an ML bullpen one day). That trade was a bit iffy, but he'd gone 18 starts with an ERA of 4.81, and the Reds were out of the playoff race, so I could see it being not entirely unreasonable. (Maybe the Reds thought he was worse than they had expected, and they saw a chance to use his high value to get a potential superstar they covet - stranger things have happened right?)

This trade just now though - in 8 starts, he had 5 wins, and an ERA of 1.94. He's on $2.5mn this yr, and under contract until 2020 with no year above $5mn. He rates 4.5 stars, and being 26 and with previous skill improvements, it looks like he's not hit his best yet. That should be a player that any team wants to hang onto right? If I tried trading for him, they'd want my entire farm system, AND my best veterans. What they got for him was a 20yr old Rookie-ball pitcher rated as a 2.5 star prospect, and a 19yr old rookie-ball Catcher rated as a 1.5 star prospect. It's May, the Pirates are 2 games back on the Cards. This trade makes less than zero sense!
