After the surprisingly strong May the fans of the Quakers were hoping for more in June. The team failed to live up to the renewed hope of the fans though and only managed 12 wins from the 22 games played during the month. This saw them slip back to 4th in the NL table 6 games behind the leaders.

With the drop off in form of the team the players also struggled to get individual performances. The one player that did find form was pitcher Bob Black. Black won 7 of his 11 games while pitching 91 innings. He gave up 68 hits and 14 RBI's for an ERA of 1.38
