We begin a 3 game series with manager Paul Richards (45-5.4) and his Spiders today. We are 11-4 against them this season and swept them in 3 games in Cleveland a month ago the last time we met. They are 4th in the League in scoring with 5.0 runs per game (Detroit is 3rd with 5.4). They are 8th and last in runs allowed with 6.2 per game (Detroit is #1 with 3.9).

Won - 5 to 1

We did not make an error unto there were 2 outs in the 9th and they did not score until after we made an error.

McLeod allowed 5 hits, 1 walk and struck out 3. At bat, he had 2 hits.

Rawls gave us 12 hits, 1 walk and struck out 4.

We made 1 error and Cleveland made 4.

3B Sam Boullion (26-4.8) had 2 hits and scored a run. LF Ben Smith (27-6.7) had 2 hits and an RBI. SS Al Shaffer (26-5.6) had 2 hits and scored a run. CF Ben Spencer (26-4.2) had 2 hits with a double, stole a base, scored a run and had an RBI.

Liberty League:
Cincinnati (2) at Philadelphia (4): Fred Barrow (34-4.7) (15-25) over Charlie Branham (26-4.2) (16-7). Barrow allowed 5 hits, 2 walks and struck out 1. At bat, he had 3 hits, scored a run and had an RBI. Branham allowed 11 hits, 1 walk and struck out 2. At bat, he had a hit and scored a run. 1B Jack Warren (34-7.2), the ex-Wolverine, had 2 hits and scored 2 runs.

New York (0) at Rochester (1): Bill Henson (29-6.5) (16-26) over Miah Turner (25-5.3) (24-21). Henson allowed 3 hits, 3 walks and struck out 8. Turner allowed 4 hits, no walks and struck out 9. It is this 4th time this season he has lost a game where he allowed 5 or fewer hits. The only run was scored in the 1st inning. 1B Pete Hinde (31-7.9) had 2 hits with a double and scored a run.

Boston (5) at Indianapolis (7): Levi Giddens (34-4.8) (10-23) over Joe Peters (30-4.9) (22-15). Giddens allowed 8 hits, 4 walks and struck out 3. At bat, he had a hit and a walk and scored a run. Peters allowed 11 hits, 2 walks and struck out 2. Boston made 7 errors, but no player made more than 1. This was a team effort. Manager/RF Ed Wakefield (26-5.8) hit a double and a triple, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs.

Grand National Association:

Kansas City (2) at Baltimore (3): Tom Wilmarth (26-5.4) (20-24) over Al McClaughry (22-5.6) (25-27). Wilmarth allowed 7 hits, 4 walks and struck out 2. McClaughry allowed 7 hits, 2 walks and struck out 5. CF Bill Fogle (27-5.3) had 2 hits and 2 RBIs.

Pittsburgh (4) at Omaha (0): Tom Lilly (26-6.4) (25-22) over Tom Lee (28-6.0) (28-15). Lilly allowed 4 hits, 4 walks and struck out 3. Lee allowed 8 hits, 4 walks and struck out 4. CF Billy Galloway (25-5.3) had 3 hits and an RBI.

Providence (1) at Milwaukee (7): Dan Burton (31-4.9) (22-30) over Dave Frazier (26-5.7) (6-10). Burton allowed 6 hits, 1 walk and struck out 4. LF Pete Green (37-9.3) had 3 hits, scored a run and had an RBI.
