3B Sam Boullion (26-4.8) had 2 hits, stole a base, scored a run and had an RBI. LF Ben Smith (27-6.7) hit a home run for the 2nd day in a row. This was a 2-run inside-the park one, his 9th round-tripper of the season. 2B Jocko Cole (24-6.1) had 2 hits with a double and a walk, stole 2 bases and scored a run. CF Ben Spencer (26-4.2) had 2 hits and an RBI. C Jimmy Babcock (30-6.2) had 2 hits with a double and scored a run and threw out 2 of 3 on steal attempts.
For Philadelphia, SS Smith Yocum (29-5.5) hit his 4th home run of the season.

Boston (4) at Indianapolis (2): Charlie Morlock (37-6.7) (22-22) over Dad Marshall (27-4.4) (20-24). Morlock allowed 10 hits, 3 walks and struck out 4. At bat, he had a hit. Marshall allowed 10 hits, 3 walks and struck out 3. At bat, he had 2 hits and an RBI. He has lost 6 in a row and the Hoosiers have lost 8 in a row. 1B Bill Gordon (29-3.7) hit a 2-run home run, his 7th of the season.
New York (14) at Rochester (4): John Allen (28-6.4) (5-3) over Ed Hodges (26-3.2) (21-21). Allen allowed 10 hits, 1 walk and struck out 4. At bat, he had 3 hits, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. New York had 20 hits. 1B John Hilliard (26-7.2) had 4 hits and a walk, scored 3 runs and had an RBI.
Cleveland (2) at Cincinnati (7): John Stevens (29-8.2) (30-15) over Ed Pedersen (24-5.1) (21-26). Cleveland scored 2 runs in the 1st inning and led 2-0 until the bottom of the 7th. Stevens allowed 5 hits, 2 walks and struck out 7. At bat, he hit a double and had 2 RBIs. He has won 6 in a row and the Reds have won 10 straight. Pedersen allowed 8 hits, 5 walks and struck out 3. At bat, he had a hit. RF Joe Turner (26-6.6) drew a walk and hit his 9th home run of the season, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs. For Cleveland, C Kid Wright's (31-7.3) season is over with a broken bone in his hand.

Burnett allowed 7 hits, 4 walks and struck out 8. At bat, he had a hit. 2B Billy Moore (31-7.0) hit a double and 2 triples, scored 3 runs and had 2 RBIs.
Providence (4) at Brooklyn (5) Game 1: Ren French (25-4.9) (24-20) over Tom Blomberg (28-4.7) (25-22). French allowed 8 hits, 1 walk and struck out 3. Blomberg allowed 11 hits, 3 walks and struck out 3. At bat, he had a hit. Rookie 1B Lew Bell (29-4.2) had 2 hits, stole a base, scored a run and had an RBI. LF Monte Moody (28-6.9) pulled a muscle and will likely miss the rest of the season. They say it will take him about 5 weeks to recover.
Providence (3) at Brooklyn (4) Game 2: William Pini (27-4.5) in relief of John Ritch (32-7.8) over Ed Wison (25-7.3) (30-19). Ritch had to leave in the 9th inning with a sore arm, but should be fine after a night's rest. In 8.1 innings, he allowed 4 hits, 2 walks and struck out 4. Pini got the last 2 outs without incident, striking out one batter. He ended up with the win when we knocked in a run with a 2-out single in the bottom of the 9th.
Chicago (5) at Milwaukee (4): Pete Rinehart (27-6.2) (28-18) over Zachary Buchanan (25-4.0) (22-30). Rinehart allowed 7 hits, 3 walks and struck out 5. Buchanan allowed 7 hits, 1 walk and struck out 6. The Brewers made 8 errors.
Pittsburgh (9) at Omaha (8): Tom Adams (32-6.0) (5-11) over Lee Sprague (26-3.5) (20-19). Something is seriously wrong with Sprague. He has lost 5 in a row and has allowed 41 runs in his last 4 starts. RF Ace Trimmell (28-5.0) had 2 hits with a triple, scored a run and had 2 RBIs.
