The wind is blowing out to left at 20 MPH, so McLeod will probably allow a dozen home runs today.

No one could take advantage of the wind today and that is just fine by me.

We made 2 errors and Philadelphia made 6.

Boston (2) at Rochester (6): Ed Hodges (26-3.2) (18-17) over Charlie Morlock (37-6.7) (17-20). Hodges allowed 7 hits, 4 walks and struck out 2. He is 8-3 in his last 11 starts. Morlock allowed 8 hits, no walks and struck out 10. 1B Pete Hinde (30-7.9) had 3 hits, stole 2 bases and scored 2 runs.

Cincinnati (6) at Cleveland (2) in 12 innings: John Stevens (29-8.2) (24-14) over Ed Pedersen (24-5.1) (19-21). In 12 innings, Stevens allowed 9 hits, 3 walks and struck out 6. Pedersen allowed 12 hits (4 in the 12th inning), 6 walks and struck out 6. 1B Joe Vaughan (31-5.2) had 4 hits with a double and his 9th home run of the year and 2 RBIs.

Brooklyn (2) at Milwaukee (3): Zachary Buchanan (25-4.0) (19-26) over Ren French (25-4.9) (19-17). Buchanan allowed 2 hits, 1 walk and struck out 3. French allowed 8 hits, 2 walks and struck out 2. CF Asa Holtz (26-6.7) had 2 hits and a walk and scored a run.

Chicago (8) at Kansas City (9): Lew Burnett (25-4.5) (13-17) over Pete Rinehart (27-6.2) (24-16). The game was tied a t 6 apiece going into the 9th inning. The Colts scored twice in the top of the inning to take the lead, but SS Fred Umbaugh (25-5.4) hit a 2-run triple with 1 out in the bottom of the inning to give the Cowboys the win. For Chicago, SS Bob Robertson (23-4.1) had 4 hits, stole 2 bases and had 2 RBIs. 2B Henry Potter (32-6.4) pulled a back muscle and will likely miss 7 to 8 weeks.
