Behind Brandon Maurer's strong outing and the Lumberjacks' potent offense, Indianapolis had an easy win against the Dodgers. The Lumberjacks had 13 hits, as they hit the ball well against 2017 All Star Jake Peavy.

The Lumberjacks entered the 8th inning tied, but exploded for 4 runs to jump out to a comfortable lead. Jordan Smith's 3 run pinch hit home run was the dagger, but Domingo Santana also had two important home runs of his own.

Seth Maness struggled in one of his first save opportunities of the year, and it resulted in a loss for the Lumberjacks. He allowed 2 runs in the 9th, and Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen closed the door in the bottom half of the inning.
