And there's the thing.
People, if you want to complain about something, don't complain about Steinbrenner spending too much money. You can't spend too much money if you're committed to winning. It's not Steinbrenner's fault that MLB doesn't provide an even playing field. As long as the rules stay the way they are, Steinbrenner is not only allowed to,
he has an obligation to spend as much as he can in order to make his team a winner. This is part of what comes with being a team owner: giving the team the money they need in order to compete. Don't complain about this. Complain about asshats like Pohlad who take the team's profits, and put more into their pockets than they give back to the team.
