Lost - 4 to 3

Anderson lost his 4th in a row and is now on a train to Syracuse. P Sal DeVaux (31-3.5) will meet us in Cincinnati tomorrow.

An oddity of this game was that every run scored was earned.

Anderson allowed 12 hits, 2 walks and struck out 1. At bat, he had a hit.

Pedersen gave us 8 hits, 1 walk and struck out 5.

We made 1 error and Cleveland made 2.

2B Jocko Cole (24-6.1) had 2 hits with a double and scored 2 runs. 1B Sam Cowan (30-5.1) hit a 2-run triple.

Liberty League:
New York (8) at Indianapolis (7): Miah Turner (25-5.3) (13-15) over Dad Marshall (27-4.4) (15-12). New York scored twice in the top of the 9th to take the lead on back-to-back 2-out run-scoring triples by RF Willie Rudd (35-5.2) and manager/LF Hi Lynch (35-7.5). Turner allowed 10 hits, no walks and struck out 6. Marshall did not pitch very well, but at bat, he had 3 hits with a double, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. C Ollie Kust (27-5.5) had 4 hits with 2 doubles and scored 3 runs. 3B Ed Glass (27-4.5) had 4 hits with a double, scored a run and had 2 RBIs.

Rochester (5) at Boston (2) in 7 innings: Ed Hodges (26-3.2) (11-14) over Charlie Morlock (37-6.7) (12-15). Hodges allowed 9 hits, 2 walks and struck out 1. At bat, he had a hit and scored a run. Morlock allowed 15 hits, no walks and struck out 3. He has lost 6 of his last 7. CF George Everman (30-6.3) had 2 hits, scored 2 runs and had an RBI.

Philadelphia (3) at Cincinnati (4) Game 1: John Stevens (29-8.2) (17-11) over Ted Ryther (32-4.3) (9-18). The Keystones tied the game with a run in the top of the 9th, but the Reds won in the bottom half on a 2-out single by manager/LF Silver Borresen (32-6.9). Stevens allowed 5 hits, 2 walks and struck out 5. At bat, he had a hit. Ryther allowed 7 hits, 2 walks and struck out 2. Borresen had 2 hits, stole 2 bases and also scored a run.

Philadelphia (3) at Cincinnati (4) Game 2: Charlie Branham (26-4.2) (4-2) over Gene Rankins (29-5.4) (7-6). Branham allowed 7 hits, 2 walks and struck out 4. At bat, he had a hit and scored 2 runs. Rankins allowed 7 hits, 4 walks and struck out 1. CF Jimmy Wolf (25-5.1) had 2 hits with a double and 2 RBIs.


Down in the Canadian Football League, Hamilton defeated Toronto, 27 to 13. Hamilton knocked out 28 hits.
