New York Gothams (23-23 .500 11 GB in 4th place in the Liberty League) at
Detroit Wolverines (36-14 .720 1st place)

Jack Roberts, N.Y. (34-6.1) (R 12-9 2.19 7.3-2.8-4.2 H-BB-K/9) vs. Hank Anderson, Det. (33-7.7) (L 5-0 1.91 7.4-2.7-4.1)

Won - 8 to 7

Anderson allowed 6 hits, 5 walks and struck out 9. At bat, he had a hit and scored 2 runs.

Roberts gave us 11 hits, 3 walks and struck out 2.

We made 3 errors and New York made 7.

CF Pat Womack (25-6.3) had 2 hits and a walk, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. SS Sam Swanger (33-4.8) had 2 hits with a double, scored 2 runs and had an RBI. C Jimmy Babcock (29-6.9) had 2 hits, scored a run and had an RBI.

For the Gothams, RF Joe Olson (29-6.8) had 3 hits with a home run, stole a base, scored 3 runs and had 2 RBIs and did not make of their 7 errors.

Liberty League:
Boston (0) at Cleveland (8): Bill Henrichs (27-7.4) (4-4) over Joe Peters (30-4.9) (10-3). What an unlikely shutout! The top hitting team in the league by a mile getting shutout in a very hitter friendly ballpark! Henrichs deserves a medal! He allowed 4 hits, no walks and struck out 5. 2B Jesse Flanders (26-5.4) had 2 hits with a double, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. For Boston, CF Pat Stafford (25-5.4) tore up his shoulder and they say it will take at least 3 months to heal. That means he is probably out for the season. He is currently 2nd in runs scored in the Liberty League and leading in stolen bases.

Rochester (7) at Philadelphia (8): Gene Rankins (29-5.4) (5-4) over Ed Hodges (26-3.2) (7-12). Rankins allowed 9 hits, 6 walks and struck out 4. At bat, he had 2 hits, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. Philadelphia made 8 errors and Rochester made 4. Hodges allowed 10 hits, no walks and struck out 2. 2B Fred Vay (34-6.0) had 2 hits with a double, stole a base, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs, but made 3 errors.

Indianapolis (2) at Cincinnati (5): Lou Ellard (28-6.3) (3-4) over Joe Osborne (28-3.0) (3-6). Ellard allowed 12 hits, 2 walks and struck out 2. Osborne allowed 6 hits, 1 walk and struck out 2. 3B Adam Trombley (32-6.8) had 2 hits, stole a base, scored 3 runs and had an RBI. The Reds turned 4 double-plays.

Grand National Association:

Baltimore (15) at Pittsburgh (2): Pop Yurkovich (34-5.6) (10-15) over Tom Adams (31-6.0) (3-6). Yurkovich allowed 4 hits, 5 walks and struck out 5. At bat, he had a hit and a walk and scored 4 runs! Pittsburgh scored both of their runs in the 9th inning. Adams has lost 5 in a row. CF Nat Lusk (26-6.4) had 4 hits with a double and a triple, scored 2 runs and had 3 RBIs. C Caleb Sawyer (27-8.9) had 3 hits with a double and a triple, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs.

Brooklyn (4) at Providence (2): Ren French (25-4.9) (12-9) over Tom Blomberg (28-4.7) (13-13). French allowed 7 hits, 2 walks and struck out 4. Blomberg allowed 7 hits, 2 walks and struck out 3. At bat, he had a hit and a walk. LF Monte Moody (28-6.9) had a hit and a walk and scored 2 runs.

Milwaukee (3) at Kansas City (8): Al McClaughry (22-5.6) (13-15) over Dan Burton (31-4.9) (14-13). McClaughry allowed 11 hits, 1 walk and struck out 4. At bat, he had a hit and an RBI. Burton has lost 6 in a row. Manager/CF Connie Frenette (31-4.7) had 2 hits and a walk, stole 2 bases, scored 3 runs and had an RBI. LF Lou Baggett (24-4.2) had 4 hits, stole 3 bases, scored a run and had an RBI.

Omaha (6) at Chicago (7): Pony Stanley (23-6.2) (15-13) over Bill Hamilton (28-5.4) (7-7). The Colts scored twice in the bottom of the 9th to win the game. The final run was scored on a passed ball. Stanley allowed 10 hits, 4 walks and struck out 4. At bat, he had a hit and scored a run. He has won 7 in a row. SS Bob Robertson (23-4.1) had 2 hits with a triple and scored 2 runs.
