When you make as many errors as you make hits, you probably should not win the game. Having your opponent make more errors than they get hits helps a lot.

With the game tied a 3 in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs, CF Willie Kirby (24-2.1) hit a double and then SS Sam Swanger (33-4.8) singled him home to win the game. It is the 5th time in the last 11 games, we have won in our final at bat.

Bush allowed 4 hits, 2 walks and struck out 8. At bat, he drew a walk, stole his 2nd base of the year and scored a run. Both thefts have been on the back end of double steals; he is not very fast, though he CAN out-run my pet 3-legged box turtle, but just barely.

Wilmarth allowed 10 hits, 1 walk and struck out 5. Baltimore made 8 errors. LF Billy Galloway (25-5.3) had 2 hits, scored 2 runs and had an RBI. 3B Charlie Hart (27-2.9) tore a thigh muscle and will miss at least 6 weeks. Maybe he has bigger thigh muscles than Otis York of Indianapolis and they take longer to heal. For Baltimore, SS Jake Steitz (27-4.7) tore something in his knee and will miss about a month.
