We begin a 3 game series with manager/LF Hi Lynch (35-7.5) and his Gothams today. We are 2-4 against them so far this season and they swept us in 3 games at New York at the end of May. Two of the games went to extra innings. They are last in the League in runs scored with 3.9 per game (Detroit is 4th with 5.0). They are 1st in the League in runs allowed with 3.6 per game (Detroit is 2nd with 3.7).

McLeod retired the first 12 batters of the game and then gave up 6 hits in the 5th inning and then shut them down on one more hit the rest of the game.
We did not score until the 6th inning, having 3 runners thrown out at the plate during that time, but scored in each of our last 3 innings at bat.
McLeod allowed 7 hits, no walks and struck out 10. At bat, he drew a walk and scored a run.
We had 17 hits for the 2nd game in a row and made 2 errors. New York made 4.
RF Joe Kraus (29-7.9) had 3 hits with 2 doubles, scored 2 runs and had an RBI. 3B Sam Boullion (26-4.8) had 2 hits with a triple, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs. 1B Sam Cowan (30-5.1) had 2 hits with a double, scored a run and had an RBI. LF Ben Smith (27-6.7) had 3 hits and a walk, stole a base, scored a run and had an RBI. 2B Jocko Cole (24-6.1) had 2 hits, stole a base, scored 2 runs and had an RBI. C Evan Eckberg (30-3.5) had 3 hits with a double and a walk, scored a run and had an RBI.
Liberty League:
Boston (2) at Cleveland (3): Harry Lamb (31-6.4) (9-10) over Charlie Morlock (36-6.7) (11-10). Lamb allowed 11 hits, no walks and struck out no one. At bat, he had a hit and an RBI. Morlock allowed 9 hits, no walks and struck out 4. 2B Jesse Flanders (26-5.4) had 2 hits, stole a base and scored a run. For Boston, SS John Ingling (26-4.6) had 4 hits with 2 doubles, stole a base, scored a run and had an RBI.
Rochester (2) at Philadelphia (7): Fred Barrow (34-4.7) (7-12) over Ed Hodges (26-3.2) (7-11). Barrow allowed 5 hits, no walks and struck out 9. Rookie LF Biff Place (25-5.4) had 2 hits with a home run, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs.
Indianapolis (7) at Cincinnati (3): Dad Marshall (27-4.4) (12-9) over Bert Fischer (25-5.6) (8-9). Marshall allowed 10 hits, 1 walk and struck out 3. He has won 6 of his last 7 starts. Fischer allowed 7 hits, 4 walks and struck out 6. He has lost 6 of his last 7 decisions. Rookie 1B Jerry O'Connell (24-4.9) had 3 hits with a home run and 4 RBIs.
Grand National Association:
Omaha (4) at Pittsburgh (9): Tom Lilly (26-6.4) (14-10) over Lee Sprague (26-3.5) (6-5). Lilly allowed 8 hits, no walks and struck out 6. Sprague allowed 8 hits, 1 walk and struck out 5. Omaha made 7 errors. C Wilson Wendling (25-4.1) had 2 hits with a triple, scored 2 runs and had an RBI.
Milwaukee (3) at Providence (0): Zachary Buchanan (25-4.0) (13-14) over Ed Wison (25-7.3) (15-11). The game was called after 7 innings because of rain. Buchanan allowed 4 hits, 1 walk and struck out 2. Wison allowed 8 hits, 2 walks and struck out 1. At bat, he had a hit. C Jarvis Patten (30-7.3) and LF Ted Steeves (24-4.2) each had 2 hits and scored a run. CF Asa Holtz (26-6.7) had his hand broken by a Wison pitch and will miss about 6 weeks.
Brooklyn (12) at Kansas City (4): Al Green (23-3.8) (19-6) over Lew Burnett (25-4.5) (6-6). Green allowed 5 hits, 2 walks and struck out 8. At bat, he hit a home run. RF Tom Campbell (28-3.6) had 3 hits, scored 2 runs and had 3 RBIs.
Baltimore (0) at Chicago (2): Pat Seguin (22-4.4) (4-3) over Pop Yurkovich (34-5.6) (9-15). Seguin allowed 5 hits, 2 walks and struck out 5. He has won 3 of his last 4 and Chicago has won 13 straight. Yurkovich allowed 7 hits, 3 walks and struck out 6. Rookie CF Jimmy Cast (21-3.6) had 2 hits with a triple and scored a run.
