Hint: as you are building a complicated league, save the build in stages as you go as templates (0.1, 0.2, 0.3, etc.) on the road to version 1.0. That way any damage/losses you take will be minimal. When you get to 1.0, save it as a template, a QuickStart and also zip up your league file (use 7-zip, it's free and wonderful) as leaguenamev1.zip for an easy reload. Now keep that file on your computer and back that zip file up securely off of your computer (DropBox, Google Drive, USB, etc.).
Make yourself bulletproof. A lot of things can go wrong during league creation.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.
