1st July 1885

The fans of the St Louis Browns are just looking for their team to manage a few wins. They didn't get much to cheer in June as the team won only 9 games while losing 16. The team are stuck in the basement of the NL table as they sit last, a full 19.5 games behind the leaders.

Series results
1-1 at home to the Cincinnati Red Stockings
1-3 on the road to the Pittsburgh Alleghenys
1-1 at home to the Philadelphia Quakers
2-2 at home to the Chiacgo White Stockings
2-2 on the road to the Boston Beaneaters
0-3 at home to the New York Giants
1-3 on the road to the Cincinnati Red Stockings
1-1 on the road to the Philadelphia Quakers

The following players made the AL All Star Squad for this year. Pitcher Dan Sheehan, Catcher Fred Carroll and Centre Fielder Pete Browning.

If it wasn't for Centre Fielder Pete Browning, the St Louis Browns could be a lot further adrift than they are. He again produced the goods in June with 31 hits in 101 at bats during his 24 games. He scored 20 runs and 15 RBI's for an average of .307.
