The following players made the AL All Star Squad for this year. Pitchers Pud Galvin and John Horan, Third Baseman George Wood, Left Fielder Henry Larkin and Centre Fielder Paul Hines.
The team traded 30 year old Short Stop John Richmond and 19 year old minor league Catcher Ed Gastfield to the New York Giants in exchange for 29 year old Pitcher Ernie Hickman.
The team struggled a little to find consistent form from their top performers. The best of the bunch in June was Left Fielder Henry Larkin. Larkin managed to squeeze 30 hits from 92 at bats in his 23 games. He scored 19 runs and 14 RBI's for an average of .326
