1st July 1884

The fans of the White Sox saw another average month from their team in June. The team managed to gain 13 wins from 26 games during the month. The team now sit in 5th place in the AL table 15 games behind the leaders.

The team started the month with a loss against the Philadelphia Athletics before going 1-1 at home to the Baltimore Orioles. They managed to pick up a 3-1 home series win against the Boston Americans before they went 2-1 at home to the Philadelphia Athletics. They finished the first half of the month poorly with a 0-4 road trip to the Cleveland Blues. The second half of the month started better with a 3-1 home series win against the Detroit Wolverines before a 3-0 sweep of the Washington Nationals at home. The month ended with a 1-3 road trip against the Baltimore Orioles and a loss at home to the Philadelphia Athletics.

It was a tough month individually for the players in June which is why this month we are not going to highlight any stars.

The team lost Left Fielder Frank Olin for 2 weeks during the month due to a sprained wrist that then turned into 4 weeks after a setback in his recovery.

The team traded 24 year old Right Fielder Hal McClure and 22 year old minor league First baseman Edgar Smith to the St Louis Browns in exchange for 35 year old Left Fielder Count Gedney.

The following White Sox made the AL All Star Squad. They were Pitcher Frank Foreman and First Baseman Hick Carpenter
