Brooklyn (4) at Providence (7): Sam Paul (30-5.4) (3-7) over Dick Cole (31-5.9) (5-7). Paul allowed 11 hits, 2 walks and struck out 6. Cole allowed 7 hits, 5 walks and struck out 2. LF Charlie Gregor (26-5.2) had 2 hits with a double (his first extra-base hit of the season), a walk and an RBI. Manager/1B Paul Fenner (36-4.6) had 2 hits, a walk, stole a base, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. For Brooklyn, 1B Otis York (29-6.3) had 3 hits with a double, a walk, scored 2 runs and had an RBI.
