The fans of the White Sox continue to be pleased with the steady progress their team is making this year as they watch their team continue to play average ball. The team managed to pick up 13 wins from the 28 games played in May to stay mid table in 5th place in the AL 12.5 games behind the leaders.

The team started May slowly with a 1-3 loss at home to the Louisville Eclipse before bouncing back with a 2-0 road trip win against the Boston Americans and a 2-2 road trip against the Baltimore Orioles. The good form continued with a 2-1 road trip win against the Washington Nationals followed by a 3-1 road trip win against the Detroit Wolverines. The form took a dip after this as they went 1-1 at home to the Philadelphia Athletics and 0-4 at home to the Cleveland Blues. The month finished on the road with a 2-1 win against the Louisville Eclipse and a 0-2 loss to the Philadelphia Athletics.

The star of the show in Chicago was the pitcher Charlie Geggus. Geggus managed to pick up 8 wins from his 14 starts while pitching 121 innings. He gave up 20 earned runs and 84 hits for an average of 1.49.

The team made a move during the month to strengthen the batting. They traded 29 year old Short Stop Clarence Cross and 22 year old minor league Catcher John Humphries across town to the Chicago White Stockings in exchange for 28 year old Third Baseman Hick Carpenter. The fans are hopeful that Carpenter can add to the strength of the batting line up.
