Free agent compensation is in play but we have customized it to our liking (it's not turned on in the game and we use our own parameters/do it manually). We also have some custom rules about vesting and team option years on contracts (we allow them, but following certain guidelines).

About this league: This league was formed in early 2005 on OOTP 6 and has been going strong ever since. We've been through many version changes, expansions, contractions, etc. but have kept the same overall vibe and many of the same owners have been around since the beginning or almost that long.

It is called the Off Topic Baseball Association because it originally formed among a group of people who frequented the OT part of the forum back then. In recent years it has come to include others from around the OOTP community, but we have kept the same mentality of being a forum-based league. This means that I do not send out emails, and owners rarely use instant messengers. Most all communications happen on the forums so you will need to be comfortable checking forums daily and interacting with others in a forum environment.
