Baltimore Orioles (32-43 .427 21 GB in 9th place in the Grand National Association) at
Omaha Mutuals (54-23 .701 1st place)

Sal DeVaux, Balt. (29-3.5) (R 11-16 3.41 10.2-2.0-4.9 H-BB-K/9) vs. Tom Lee, Omaha (26-6.0) (R 23-4 1.79 6.3-1.3-6.1)

Won - 6 to 5

Lee allowed 8 hits, 1 walk and struck out 6. And beaned a batter. And won his 16th start in a row!

DeVaux allowed 5 hits, 5 walks and struck out 5. He had 2 hits at bat with a mammoth home run that had to go about 440 feet to center field with the wind blowing in. He scored twice.

We made 1 error; Baltimore made 6.

C Charlie LeFevre (30-5.0) had 2 hits with a double, a walk, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. And threw out the only player that tried to steal.

For Baltimore, 2B Billy Moore (29-7.0) hit a home run and had 3 RBIs.

Lee had only allowed 1 home run before this game and only 2 opposing players had hit the ball out of Mutuals Park. Today 2 did it.

Grand National Association Games:
Kansas City (8) at Scranton (0): Hosea Alexander (36-4.8) (15-6) over Sam Paul (29-5.4) (11-25). Alexander allowed 2 hits, walked 2 and struck out 3. At bat, he had 2 hits and scored a run. He won his 5th in a row. 3B Erve More (25-4.5) hit a double and a triple, scored 2 runs and had an RBI.

Minneapolis (0) at Philadelphia (3): Bill McClean (38-6.0) (23-13) over Dan Dittmar (35-8.0) (21-17). McClean allowed 5 hits, 2 walks and struck out 11. I think it is safe to say that there are no lingering effects from his pulled muscle. Dittmar allowed 3 hits, walked 2 and struck out 3.
