Grand National Association Games:

Scranton (3) at Louisville (2): Sam Paul (29-5.4) (11-21) over Jake D'Addario (34-5.5) (7-18). Paul allowed 6 hits, walked 1 and struck out 4. He had 2 hits at bat. D'Addario allowed 9 hits, 2 walks and did not strike out anyone. He has now lost 10 of his last 12. 2B Joe O'Neill (36-7.6) had 2 hits, scored a run and had an RBI. RF Cherokee Finley (32-4.9) had 2 hits, stole 2 bases and had 2 RBIs.

Chicago (8) at Milwaukee (5): John Ritch (29-7.8) (19-20) over Tom Washam (31-6.1) (16-23). Ritch allowed 9 hits, 1 walk and struck out 4. Washam allowed 14 hits, walked 3 and struck out a GNA record 13 batters. He also hit a double and scored a run. RF Bill Sears (35-4.0) had 3 hits with a triple, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. SS Lew Sheen (29-6.1) had 3 hits with a triple and a home run and 3 RBIs.

Liberty League Games:
Cincinnati (8) at New York (3): Charlie Branham (24-4.2) (22-9) over George Taylor (29-3.9) (13-17). Branham allowed 8 hits, walked 3 and struck out 6. Taylor lost his 9th game in a row. Manager Ed Lanham (49-5.3) had quietly gone back to using Jack Roberts (32-6.1) as his #1 man in the box. CF Fleet Wilcox (27-4.9) had 4 hits with a triple, stole a base, scored a run and had 3 RBIs. Since the beginning of July, he is hitting .406 with 8 home runs and 21 extra-base hits in 25 games. He has scored 25 runs and knocked in 29 during the span. For New York, CF James McClellan (26-4.7) hit a triple and his 4th home run, scored twice and had 2 RBIs.

Boston (1) at Troy (2) in 10 innings: Harry Lamb (29-6.4) (19-10) over Charlie Morlock (35-6.7) (20-12). Lamb allowed 9 hits, no walks and struck out 4. He had half of Troy's hits with 3 and scored a run. Lamb won for the 8th straight time and has now won his last 4 match-ups with Morlock. Morlock allowed 6 hits, 1 walk and struck out 4. Rookie LF Ed Wakefield (24-5.8) won the game with a 2-out single. For the Red Caps, RF Charlie Warner (30-9.2) had 4 hits and stole 2 bases, but no runs or RBIs. Troy is the hottest team in baseball right now. They have won 10 of their last 11; the only loss was Bendy's final start.

Detroit (7) at Cleveland (5): Hank Anderson (31-7.7) (11-5) over Willis Kornfield (31-6.0) (7-9). Anderson allowed 10 hits, 1 walk and struck out 3. With his bat, he had a hit, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. CF Joe Kraus (27-7.9) had 3 hits with a double, stole a base and scored 2 runs. For Cleveland, SS Jesse Flanders (24-5.4) had 3 hits with a double, stole 2 bases and scored a run.

Washington (5) at St. Louis (4) in 13 innings: Dan Burton (29-4.9) (13-14) over Freddy Wood (28-6.3) (12-15). There were 36 hits and 13 errors in this game; don't know how they kept from scoring more runs. 2B John Kron (32-3.6) had 4 hits and scored a run. For the Maroons, 2B Sam Thompson (36-4.5) had 4 hits, a walk and 2 RBIs.
