Cardinals pad their lead by tagging Yankee reliever Frank Hiller for three runs. RBI's by CF Harry Walker, LF Gionfriddo, and 1B Stan Musial. Yankees fail to match.

Yankees 2B Bobby Brown drives home PH Ken Silvestri but it is not enough.
