Even if you choose to disable an award in the settings, it still gives out the award and creates an event for it. It seems as though disabling the award would remove it...

Also, you can manually delete the award announcement, but you still have the option to vote on it even though disabled and deleted from announcements. I thought this was a cool feature as you can grow the awards you give realistically but it appears to be everything, all the time.
