The Athletics finally found a winning month in September for their fans to cheer. The team picked up 7 wins from the 13 games played in September. They have now been confirmed as the bottom team in the AL as they are 10 games behind the leaders and 5 behind the other teams.

The pitching had some good days and some bad days in September. The pitcher with the best form during the month was George Derby. Derby who has steadily improved all year managed to win 5 games from 7 starts with 59.1 innings pitched. He gave up 61 hits and 11 earned runs for an ERA of 1.67. These figures earned him the Al Pitcher of the Month and the AL Rookie of the Month awards. The team gave up 72 runs during the month.

The team scored 74 runs in a good month for the batting. The best batter was once again Curry Foley. Foley started all 13 games and picked up 19 hits from 55 at bats. He scored 13 runs with 8 RBI's for an average of .345
