We had 9 hits and Brooklyn had 10. They made 1 error and we made 10.

C Harry Farrell (31-5.6) had a double and a triple and an RBI, but pulled a muscle doing all that running and will miss the next 2 weeks. So now, the only two guys who were hitting on the team are out. IF Warren Hogan (30-7.2) is the other.

For Brooklyn, 3B Pony McDonald (28-6.5) had 3 hits, stole a base, scored a run and had 2 RBIs.

Grand National Association Games:

Pittsburgh (7) at Providence (8) in 10 innings: Egyptian Hooker (35-3.9) (16-15) over Frank Baker (35-6.9) (3-3) in relief of Tom Adams (29-6.0). Pittsburgh scored twice in the top 0f the 9th to tie the game, once in the top of the 0th to take the lead, but the Grays scored twice in the bottom of the 10th to win. The winning run scored on an error by P Baker. Hooker went all 10 innings, allowed 10 hits, walked 1 and struck out 4. He had 3 hits and an RBI at bat. 3B Bill Parsons (25-8.3) had 3 hits with a double and a triple, scored 3 runs and knocked in 2. He led off the bottom of the 10th with a single and scored the tying run. For the Stogies, 3B Dan White (23-5.1) had 4 hits, scored 2 runs and had an RBI.

Philadelphia (6) at Baltimore (3): Bill McClean (37-6.0) (27-17) over Pop Yurkovich (31-5.6) (20-20). McClean allowed 4 hits, 1 walk and struck out 4. Yurkovich allowed 9 hits, walked 2 and struck out 7. He has now lost 4 in a row and his dream of having his first winning season is looking to be a long shot. 1B Davy Palmer (32-7.0) had 3 hits with a double, scored a run and had 2 RBIs.

Chicago (4) at Kansas City (11): Hosea Alexander (35-4.8) (21-11) over Bill Moore (28-5.7) (9-13). Alexander allowed 9 hits, no walks and struck out 4. With his bat he had 2 hits, a walk, scored twice and knocked in 3. Moore set a new Grand National Association record by walking 7 batters in the game. Joe Peters (27-4.9) of Boston holds the major league record with 9 in a game in 1881. 2B Jack Grossman (28-7.1) had 2 hits, a walk, scored 4 runs and had an RBI.

Liberty League Games:

St. Louis (6) at Cincinnati (2): Sam White (28-5.2) (9-13) over John Stevens (26-8.2) (22-12). White allowed 4 hits, 1 walk and struck out 3. LF John Rodgers (31-4.4) had 2 doubles, scored a run and had an RBI. The Reds' 1B Joe Vaughan (28-5.2) injured his knee and will miss 3-4 weeks.

Detroit (3) at New York (4): Jack Roberts (31-6.1) (26-19) over William Rose (32-4.9) (13-19). Roberts allowed 11 hits, walked 1 and struck out 3. 2B Ed Glass (24-4.5) had 3 hits, stole a base and had an RBI.

Utica (5) at Washington (3): Willis Kornfield (30-6.0) (17-15) over Dan Burton (28-4.9) (12-19). Kornfield allowed 6 hits, walked 2 and struck out 6. At the plate, he had 2 hits, scored 2 runs and had an RBI. RF Kid Orr (24-5.6) scored the winning run on a passed ball. He had 3 hits with a double, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs.

Troy (2) at Boston (3) in 11 innings: William Little (22-6.0) (6-3) over Harry Lamb (28-6.4) (14-16). Little pitched all 11 innings, allowed 7 hits, walked 2 and struck out 6. Lamb went the distance and allowed 5 hits, 2 walks and struck out 10. He walked a batter with the bases loaded in the 11th to lose. 3B Sandy Perkes (33-3.5) had 3 of Boston's 5 hits and 2 RBIs. He tied the game with a 2-out single in the bottom of the 9th.
